Since 1998, Centre Socioculturel Twese Hamwe has been a beacon of hope and empowerment in our community. With a mission to serve, empower, and inspire, we’ve dedicated 26 years to transforming lives through innovative programs and meaningful initiatives.From educational support and economic development to environmental preservation, we work closely with individuals and communities to create positive, lasting change. Over 550 lives have already been directly impacted by our commitment to building a brighter, more equitable future.Join us on this journey of empowerment and discovery as we continue to shape sustainable growth and inspire the next generation. Our Story

The story of our NGO, Sociocultural Center Twese Hamwe , is one of commitment, innovation, and impact. Since its inception, it has tirelessly worked to meet the needs of our communities, evolving over the years to better fulfill its mission.

Empower vulnerable children and youth and promote the well-being of older adults.

We aim to enhance community life through holistic programs that improve well-being, support vulnerable youth with material, psychological, and social care, and empower seniors by offering engaging sporting, social, and cultural activities to promote active and fulfilling lives.

Our Journey

Since 1998, Centre Socioculturel Twese Hamwe has been committed to rebuilding and empowering our community. What started with education and literacy programs has expanded into a range of initiatives focused on vocational training, youth support, and senior well-being.Through continued investment in infrastructure and partnerships, we’ve grown to meet the evolving needs of the community, always striving to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

1998-1999

Acquiring land marked a key milestone, initiating our engagement with the local community and leading to pivotal meetings that shaped our mission and objectives.

2000-2003

We launched "Hozabana" to boost adult literacy, distribute goats, and established a waste management association

2004-2006

launched training programs on domestic economy, family conflict management, and sustainable development to promote awareness and responsible practices.

2007-2009

We launched programs on domestic economy, conflict management, and sustainability to empower women and foster responsibility.

2012-2019

We offered year-long certifications in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Hairdressing, and IT, along with a Caregiver course and youth camps.

2020-2021

We renovated existing buildings, constructed new ones, and partnered with organizations to generate revenue, supporting program sustainability and growth.

2022-2023

We set up a support program for vulnerable youth in schools and a well-being center for seniors, offering activities to enhance health and engagement.
